Graphite designed for leading international markets

NextSource Materials, a Canadian company operating the Molo graphite mine, announced its first commercial deliveries of graphite concentrate to Germany and the United States.

Germany and the United States received the first shipments of graphite concentrate from the Molo mine (Fotadrevo) in southern Madagascar. In a statement released on Thursday, the Canadian company behind the operation expressed satisfaction with the export process. The company specified that containers of high-quality, coarse-flake graphite concentrate were shipped from Toliara port to Germany and the United States, fulfilling existing purchase agreements.

These initial shipments are destined for key markets that require high-value graphite products, particularly durable materials and graphite sheets for consumer electronics and fire-resistant applications. Environmental experts forecast that by 2026, Africa will become the leading producer of natural graphite for lithium-ion battery production, with Mozambique and Madagascar as the main suppliers. Private operators are also establishing industrial facilities to process these products.
