Taxpayers : Mandatory Update of Information

One-month deadline for taxpayers

The Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) is urging taxpayers to update their tax information using the « Nifonline » platform.

According to a DGI statement, taxpayers have one month to update their details. Any discrepancies or incomplete information must be rectified within this period. After the deadline, the tax identification numbers (NIF) of those with incomplete or incorrect data will be automatically blocked.

Each taxpayer is responsible for carefully verifying and updating the necessary information, including their residential or business address, contact persons, phone numbers, and email addresses. Additionally, details regarding shareholders and institutions such as the ( number and value of shares, statistical numbers, RCS numbers, bank account details, and business activities…) must be updated.

Taxpayers are also required to validate the accuracy of their information if no changes are needed. This process is essential for renewing the tax card, by Article 1-06 of the Tax Procedure Code. Non-compliance may result in penalties, including the suspension of NIFs. The DGI also emphasizes the applicability of measures outlined in Article 20.01.56.15.2° of the Tax Code.
