Interoperability via THUNES

In early 2024, MVola, a digital bank, and subsidiary of the Telma Group, expanded its remittance ecosystem through the aggregator Thunes, establishing interoperability with Orange Money Europe.

After forming strategic alliances with Western Union, MVola Comores, Taptap Send, MFS Africa, and MoneyGram, MVola fortified its position further by collaborating with Orange Money Europe. « This collaboration essentially fosters interoperability. We aim to strengthen family ties and fihavanana across borders », remarked MVola’s CEO, Louis-Olivier Favot.

This partnership aims to enhance the money-receiving experience while reducing transfer costs. Since mid-January, Orange Money Europe users residing in Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, and the Netherlands can transfer money to an MVola account in Madagascar. The process of monetary reception remains simple, instant, secure, and available anytime. Transferable amounts are promptly credited to the MVola account in MGA with no additional fees.
