Madagascar – UNS : An agreement worth 131 million USD

Major funding for Sustainable Development Goals

The UNSDF Steering Committee meeting in Madagascar highlights the positive and productive collaboration between the government and the United Nations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Local authorities have recently reported on their successful collaboration with the UN system in 2023. Thanks to this collaboration, the strategic guidelines defined have enabled the UNSDCF 2024-2028 Implementation Plan to be put in place. The Steering Committee is also involved in assessing progress, identifying effective practices and defining future directions. As a result, 83 % of UNSDF grants have been well utilized.

In a collaborative context, various governmental and international stakeholders met at the Carlton Anosy to discuss the achievements of UNSDF funding. This exemplary partnership between Madagascar and the UNSDF demonstrates their mutual commitment to achieving the SDGs, focusing on concrete actions for a more sustainable future.
