Addressing the essential principles and importance of ESG

The 2024 ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and Sustainability Reporting Summit is taking place in Mauritius. Industry leaders, compliance specialists, and sustainability experts are gathering to explore new trends.

The Ministry of Financial Services and Good Governance, the Financial Services Institute, and the University of Dundee have co-organized the event. The summit will cover several key topics, including the essential principles and importance of ESG, choosing the right reporting framework, applying and interpreting ESG criteria, developing sustainable investment strategies, analyzing case studies, and adopting best practices.

Minister Sunil Bholah emphasized the crucial role of ESG aspects in decision-making. He highlighted the importance of integrating ESG standards across the financial sector. Bholah noted the government’s commitment to enhancing Mauritius’ position as a regional hub for sustainable finance through various initiatives and actions.
