Air Mauritius : Two new appointments in Southern Africa

As part of a strategy to strengthen its presence in Southern Africa, Air Mauritius has recently announced two significant appointments within its local team. Melissa McKay as Head of Business Development and Sales. Kirsty Rebelo as Director of Sales and Marketing for Southern Africa and Latin America.

With nearly four years of experience within the airline, McKay will now be responsible for managing key accounts from retailers, travel agents, tour operators, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions) enterprises in the Western Cape region, the Garden Route, Eastern Cape, and Namibia. « With my passion for Air Mauritius as an airline and brand, I am very optimistic about this exciting adventure ahead of us. My goal is to develop the new region. I’m looking forward to nurturing our existing partnerships, creating new relationships, and embracing the challenges and opportunities this new role brings », she said. Taking on the role of Head of Business Development and Sales, she plans to develop the region. This is done by strengthening existing partnerships, establishing new relationships, and leveraging various challenges and opportunities that will arise.

As for Kirsty Rebelo, with a rich experience in the travel industry spanning over 22 years and has worked closely with tour operators in South Africa and abroad. She joined Air Mauritius as Director of Sales and Marketing. Her deep understanding of the aviation sector will greatly value her new role, facilitating a smooth transition and effective performance through her ability to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
