Driss Chafik appointed CEO of Wafa Assurance Senegal

Driss Chafik has been appointed Managing Director of Wafa Assurance Senegal, effective March 10, 2025. The new CEO succeeds Ibra Kane, who retired on February 19, 2025, after a career marked by his involvement in the company’s development.

Holding a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from IAE France and an Executive MBA from MBS School of Business, Driss Chafik has a solid academic background. With nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance and assistance sector, he has worked for several renowned companies, including MAMDA-MACMA in Morocco, Sanlam in Senegal and Togo, as well as Africa First Assist in Morocco and DZ Assistance in Algeria.

This expertise acquired within large international companies makes him a key player in supporting the company’s development strategy, with the ambition of strengthening its position on the Senegalese market and innovating in the insurance sector.
