MTN Group has announced the appointment of Ankur Bajpai as Head of Residential Broadband, effective April 1, 2025. With over 21 years of experience in telecommunications, Bajpai will lead a new unit dedicated to developing home internet services. His primary focus will be promoting solutions such as fiber optic home access (FTTH) and fixed wireless access (FWA), which are essential for improving connectivity in Africa.
Before joining MTN, Bajpai worked for Etisalat and Reliance Communications, and has been with the group for seven years. The manager has played a key role in the group’s growth and innovation. This appointment comes at a time of rapidly increasing demand for broadband services, particularly with remote working and online learning.
MTN hopes that under his leadership, the company will be able to offer better connectivity to African homes while responding to growing competition from players such as Vodacom and Starlink. The company also aims to support digital inclusion and ensure sustainable growth in remote areas.
