« Africa Club » : Samaila Zubairu appointed President

Samaila Zubairu has been appointed President of the Alliance of African Multilateral Financial Institutions (AAMFI), commonly known as « Africa Club ». This decision was confirmed at the fifth meeting of the AAMFI Board of Directors, held on 16 February 2025, on the sidelines of the 38th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa. Zubairu, who is also CEO of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), succeeds Benedict Oramah, the founding President of AAMFI.

Established in 2024, AAMFI’s mission is to promote sustainable economic growth and financial autonomy on the continent. In particular, by strengthening partnerships between its member institutions, African governments and global agencies.

With 29 years of experience in infrastructure financing, the new Chairman has led private equity firm Africapital Management and served as CFO of Dangote Cement. His commitment focuses on youth empowerment, industrialization and the development of a robust financial architecture. The aim is to mobilize African capital and drive collaborative growth on the continent.
