The Office of the President of Seychelles has announced key appointments at the Maritime Safety Authority, effective from September 1, 2023. Captain Daniel Adam has been appointed as the new Director General, while Mr. Andy Gobine assumes the role of Deputy Director General.
Captain Adam brings a wealth of expertise to his new role, holding a Master’s Degree in Port Management from Liverpool John Moores University, UK. With extensive experience in shipping operations, he embarked on his career journey with Seychelles Petroleum Company Ltd in 2008, serving as Chief Officer aboard a tanker/chemical tanker. His dedication and proficiency led to his promotion to the position of Captain in February 2013, a role he diligently fulfilled until September 2022.
Mr. Andy Gobine, the newly appointed Deputy Director General, holds an MA in Arts, Leadership, and Strategic Management from the National University of Ireland. With over 23 years of professional experience spanning both the public and private sectors, Mr. Gobine’s diverse background adds valuable insight to his new role. Prior to his appointment at the Maritime Safety Authority, he held the position of Operations Manager in a private company, showcasing his leadership and strategic management capabilities.
These appointments mark a significant step forward for the Maritime Safety Authority, as it strengthens its leadership team with individuals of exceptional competence and experience. With Captain Daniel Adam and Mr. Andy Gobine at the helm, the Authority is well-positioned to advance its mandate of ensuring maritime safety and security in Seychelles’ waters.
