The Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIM) has announced the appointment of Drishtysingh Ramdenee as the new Secretary-General.
The decision was ratified on May 18, 2023, by the CCIM board, and from July 1, 2023, Mr. Ramdenee will succeed Yousouf Ismaël at its head. His mission will be to successfully carry out the institution’s strategic objectives, consolidating its essential role within the business community in Mauritius and internationally.
Mr. Ramdenee’s professional career is eloquent and demonstrates his proven skills in economic development. Before this appointment, he held key positions within the Economic Development Board (EDB), where he was in charge of services and emerging sectors. Additionally, he temporarily assumed the role of CEO of the Mauritius Institute of Biotechnology, a public company involved in the investment of pharmaceutical projects. It is worth mentioning that the expert also brings with them valuable international experience. He has previously served as the director of the Industrial Maintenance Technology Institute (ITMI) in Canada. In addition to his responsibilities in these institutions, Mr. Ramdenee sits on the board of several other organizations, including SME Mauritius Ltd and the Mauritius Emerging Technology Council.
