Four-lane accessible road
A presidential project aimed at optimizing and transforming the surroundings of Lake Ivato and the Tsarasaotra–Ivato bypass was recently announced by the State Secretariat for New Cities and Housing (SENVH).
The expansion of the Tsarasaotra–Ivato road is included in this project, and according to SENVH, this road will be accessible as a four-lane route. It will feature a dedicated lane for electric buses, providing direct connections between Ivato, Ankorondrano, and Andraharo.
Additionally, a cycling lane and a pedestrian walkway will be incorporated. The roadside will be adorned with trees and blooming gardens, complemented by spaces dedicated to leisure, sports, and events. A floating solar park will also be installed on Lake Ivato, aiming to boost energy availability in Antananarivo and reduce power outages.
Furthermore, the SENVH announced that work on these infrastructures will begin soon. The general coordination of the project’s implementation will be overseen by SENVH, while initial development work in the area will be handled by the Analamanga region.
