International Civil Aviation Day in the Comoros

Importance of modernizing airports

The Comorian government’s Ministry of Maritime and Air Transport has committed to supporting all initiatives aimed at strengthening this essential sector.

The National Agency of Civil Aviation and Meteorology (ANACM) celebrated International Civil Aviation Day on December 7 with the theme: A Secure Sky and a Sustainable Future: Together for the Next 80 Years.

For the organizers and Comorian authorities present, it was a solemn moment of reflection on the importance of civil aviation in national development. It also highlighted the shared commitment to making this sector a driver of development, safety, and sustainability.

The Minister of Transport emphasized that civil aviation is crucial in creating an interconnected world. It transcends geographical, cultural, and economic boundaries, thus offering new perspectives for trade and technological exchanges. According to the Minister, the safety and security of flights are non-negotiable as they play an essential role in the confidence of travelers and economic actors.

Various stakeholders highlighted the importance of modernizing airports, particularly by strengthening infrastructure with state-of-the-art equipment to meet the demands of global airlines.
