Rehabilitation of several important road axes
Madagascar places great importance on facilitating access to high-potential areas in its tourism development policy.
The rehabilitation of roads leading to sites like Manambato and Ambila Lemaitso, aimed at reaching one million tourists by 2028, was initiated by the Ministry of Public Works.
The rehabilitation of the road leading to Manambato, starting from the intersection with RN2, is now complete. According to the ministry, the travel time has significantly decreased, now taking less than half an hour. The rehabilitation of the road leading to Ambila Lemaitso is also underway, with the works progressing rapidly, although a few months remain until completion.
It is worth noting that Manambato is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Atsinanana area. This is also true for Ambila Lemaitso, for which the Ministry of Public Works has made considerable efforts in restoring these two roadways to enhance their tourist appeal. Regardless, the construction works are advancing at a satisfactory pace, allowing tourists to enjoy these sites during the year-end celebrations.
