Promoting sustainable collaborations

During her visit to Andasibe, Viviane Dewa, Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, awarded certificates to over sixty tourist guides for their commitment and contribution for more than 10 years within Madagascar National Parks (MNP).

The purpose of this certificate award is to strengthen their involvement while promoting sustainable collaborations for tourism development. The Minister took the opportunity to visit Analamazaotra National Park to highlight her actions. This park is known for its biological diversity and environmental importance. The Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts (MTA) emphasizes that this site plays a crucial role in enhancing Madagascar’s appeal as a sustainable and responsible destination.

According to information provided by the MTA, this site has been visited by approximately 35,600 visitors, with 35 % being national residents this year. Additionally, Minister Viviane Dewa held a meeting with tourism sector stakeholders, managers, and local authorities to reinforce collective involvement in the expansion of the tourism sector and the preservation of natural spaces.

A workshop was also held with local stakeholders and officials, leading to the conclusion of a partnership agreement between artisans and tourism actors. This initiative aims to promote sustainable and profitable collaboration for all.
