ParrAPI: A marketing tool to develop tourism
Launched in April 2021, the Seychellois government aims to establish a central platform for tourist information and distribute it across multiple platforms.
ParrAPI functions is a free marketing tool for tourism businesses. These businesses can publish and maintain listings visible to visitors through the official website, www.seychelles.com, and the « Visit Seychelles » mobile application.
Organizations are responsible for managing their accounts and listings. However, the department ensures data relevance and accuracy until one year of expiration. Listings undergo a quality assurance process for approval.
According to the tourism department’s records, there are a total of 650 live listings on the website. This destination platform has also ranked first in search results, experiencing increased traffic due to expanded content. Bernadette Willemin, the Director of Destination Marketing at Tourism Seychelles, emphasized the importance of social media marketing to give tourism businesses a competitive edge. A comprehensive showcase of digital products not only enhances visibility but also serves as a powerful tool to connect with a broader audience.
