Triumphs as the best destination for a honeymoon

Mauritius stands out as the favorite honeymoon destination, ahead of Bali and the Maldives.

At the 2025 Travelers’ Choice Awards, TripAdvisor named Mauritius the « Best Honeymoon Destination in the World ». This award highlights the island’s attractiveness, known for its pristine beaches, luxury hotels and cultural richness. Mauritius thus ranks ahead of other popular destinations, such as Bali and the Maldives.

This distinction reflects the island’s position in the high-end tourism market, where the travel experience combines comfort with cultural discoveries. The island enjoys a pleasant climate throughout the year, with temperatures generally remaining above 20°C, making it an accessible destination at any time.

Richard Duval, Minister of Tourism, said: « It’s not just about beaches. Mauritius offers a mix of luxury and authenticity, creating memories for newlyweds ».

Mauritius also stands out for its rich cultural heritage and natural phenomena, including the Morne waterfall. Activities such as dolphin watching or visiting the Black River Gorge add to the destination’s appeal for adventure-seeking tourists.
