A new program to improve the quality of services
The Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts officially received, on March 10 at the Carlton, the training reference document « Head of the accommodation team ».
This project aims to improve the skills of professionals in the Tourism-Hotel-Restaurant (THR) sector. The objective is to guarantee services that comply with international standards.
This program is the tenth reference document implemented among the sixteen professions identified as priorities. In addition, it is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training (METFP), as well as Tourism and Handicrafts and the European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD) Madagascar.
Compared to the « Valet/Chambermaid » training, this program offers a higher level of qualification, opening up better prospects for workers in the sector. Its objective is to strengthen the employability of tourism professionals, already in demand by the development of the sector.
According to a manager within the Ministry: « By improving the quality of hotel services, this training allows the country to better welcome tourists and prepare for major international events ».
