Madagascar Shines at the World Travel Awards 2025

International Recognition for Tourism Assets

Madagascar is among the destinations nominated for the World Travel Awards 2025. This prestigious award recognizes excellence in the tourism, travel, and hospitality sectors each year, according to the Madagascar Tourism Confederation.

This year, the island is competing in several categories, including: Best Adventure Tourism Destination, Best Cruise Destination, Best Green Destination, Best Honeymoon Destination, Best Nature Destination, and Best Tourist Office in the Indian Ocean. These nominations reflect the diversity of the country’s natural and cultural attractions.

Among the major sites on Madagascar, the Avenue of the Baobabs, located near Morondava, is particularly renowned for its century-old baobabs that form an iconic landscape. Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is another key attraction, renowned for its unique rock formations and biodiversity. Ranomafana National Park, known for its thermal springs and wildlife, including the golden bamboo lemur, is also a popular destination for visitors. Isalo National Park, famous for its sandstone landscapes, canyons, and natural pools, is also a popular destination.

The island of Nosy Be, with its beaches and diving sites, is another notable attraction contributing to the country’s popularity as a tourist destination. These natural sites, among others, are a testament to Madagascar’s rich environment and biodiversity.

The World Travel Awards are an important recognition in the tourism industry, and the results of this 2025 edition could have an impact on Madagascar’s image.
