Social Responsibility : 8 NGOs Receive Cheques from SBI

Promote sustainable social progress

The SBI (Mauritius) bank, committed to community development, has organized a cheque-handing event at its headquarters. This event reflects the bank’s ongoing efforts to support important projects that are positively changing the lives of Mauritians.

To carry out its role, the bank has established partnerships with eight non-governmental organizations. These partnerships focus on key sectors such as health, education, environmental preservation, and social welfare, illustrating the bank’s overall approach to promoting sustainable social progress. The SBI contributes financially to projects that address major issues and optimize the daily lives of communities across the island.

During the ceremony, representatives from the NGOs received funding to support their missions. Beneficiaries include Link to Life, the Mauritius Cancer Association, SOS Children’s Village, Enn Rev Enn Sourir, the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation, Ecosud, Friends of the Environment, and Caritas Rodrigues.

Somnath Adhya, Managing Director and CEO of SBI (Mauritius) Ltd. highlighted the bank’s commitment : « Our corporate social responsibility efforts extend beyond contributing to the community. They embody our core values of inclusion and shared prosperity. These initiatives have had a profound and lasting impact, transforming the lives of vulnerable individuals while fostering a brighter future for all ».
