Encouraging and supporting cooperatives
Seven new financial support programs for cooperative societies have been launched for the 2024-2025 period. These initiatives include Boost to Local Production, livestock farming, zero-budget natural farming, plant production, digitization, waste recycling, and the barcode system.
In her speech, the Minister highlighted the ministry’s objective to encourage cooperatives. They are expected to become key players in economic development and to implement various measures aimed at boosting the sector. The goals of the grant programs include diversification, modernization, and enhancing the competitive advantage of cooperatives.
The Minister urged individuals engaged in commercial activities to form cooperatives. The aim is to secure more facilities and modernize their businesses, particularly by optimizing resource use, maintaining vitality, and introducing innovation into the field.
From August 7 to September 16, 2024, Minister Ramyad is encouraging small and medium-sized enterprises, as well asplanters, to apply for these grants. The seven new grants aim to foster more diverse and resilient businesses. Other initiatives to support tea growers were also mentioned.
