Agroforestry Information Workshop

Local development through agroforestry practices

An agroforestry information workshop was organized by the NGO Graine de Vie Madagascar last weekend in Mananjary (Vatovavy region) for 8 local communities.

The workshop aimed to introduce an agroforestry project that could benefit more than 500 people. Additionally, it sought to raise awareness among participants about the positive impacts of this project on local communities and the environment.

According to Lalimandimby Rakotoarivelo, coordinator of Graine de Vie, the project not only helps preserve the environment through reforestation activities but also fosters local development through agroforestry practices, which are a key element of its implementation.

Tahiana R, a nursery manager from the village of Ranomainty, CR Mahatsara Sud, shared that the project is beneficial to the community. It provides environmental preservation training and will soon offer agroforestry and cooperative training, helping to better manage projects.

Overall, this project is valuable for the entire country and deserves widespread promotion. It aligns with the sustainable preservation of natural resources, which is one of the 13 fundamental principles of the President of the Republic.
