Once completed, this segment will fully integrate Ngazidja Island’s road network by connecting with other road projects.

On Saturday, November 9, the initial phase of rehabilitating the route from Mtsangadju ya Dimani to Fumbuni was launched in Pidjani. Funded by the World Bank, this project has a budget of 7.2 million USD. Mohamed Djambae, former mayor of Domba, opened the ceremony by welcoming attendees and expressing his gratitude for the presence of many dignitaries, including the governor of Ngazidja, the Defense spokesperson, the Minister of Planning, and technical and financial partners.

Abdourahim Ahamada Boina, representing the Pidjani municipality, voiced residents’ heartfelt thanks to the government for fulfilling its commitment to maintaining the RN3 road. « We have been isolated from the world for 44 years due to our inaccessible road. Today, we will finally have our right to unhindered freedom of movement », he declared. He also acknowledged the government under President Azali Assoumani and local advocates such as Youssoufa Mohamed Ali (Chief of Staff for Defense) and Ahamada Moussa Aby (Director General of Onicor) for their dedication to this essential project.

Minister of Planning Abdou Miroidi emphasized that this project reflects an unwavering commitment to advancing infrastructure in Comoros.
