Seychellois Government and Qatar Fund Join Forces for Real Estate Project
The Vista Heights estate, located in the Glacis district of Seychelles, was officially inaugurated on 1st March 2025, under the theme Peace and Harmony.
The project, launched in September 2023, comprises 12 modern two-bedroom apartments, designed to house local families in a peaceful and vibrant setting. This initiative represents a partnership between the Seychelles Government and Qatar Fund, with an investment of SCR 11.8 million (USD 790,600).
The project marks a change in the urbanisation of the district, offering not only modern housing but also comprehensive infrastructure, including a spacious car park, a children’s playground and a volleyball court, thus promoting a community and healthy lifestyle.
At the inauguration ceremony, President Wavel Ramkalawan, accompanied by Minister of Lands and Housing Billy Rangasamy, unveiled a commemorative plaque. This symbolic moment underscores the significance of this achievement, especially after more than 20 years without a major housing project in the area. The Minister noted that the name Vista Heights pays tribute to the former Vista Do Mar Hotel, an iconic landmark in the area.
In her speech, Regina Esparon, Member of the National Assembly for Glacis, urged future residents to preserve this space by cultivating respectful and community-oriented behaviors. Rangasamy emphasized the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing and expressed hope that Vista Heights would become a model of solidarity and harmony.
