According to President Andry Rajoelina’s New Year’s speech, the RN 13 road linking Ambovombe to Tolagnaro, listed among the major road projects of 2024, will be completed this year.

The works, supported by the European Union and the European Investment Bank to the tune of EUR 232.5 million, began in June 2022. Additionally, other road construction and rehabilitation projects are also set to begin this year. Notably, the RN 7 which connects Antananarivo to Toliara, and the RN4 which links Antananarivo to Mahajanga.

The rehabilitation works for the RN 9, which connects Analamisampy and Manja, were handed over on December 19-20, 2024. This concerns the second section of the National Road (RN) 44, from PK 60 to PK 133, between Amboasary and Vohidiala, in the Alaotra Mangoro region. The RN 30A and RN 57, which connect Hell-Ville, Andilana, and Fascène to the Ambatozavavy trail in Nosy Be, in the Diana region, were completed last October.
