Inauguration and Groundbreaking Ceremony
In the City of Flowers, the new Minister of Higher Education made several inaugurations during her first public appearance.
As the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chaminah Loulla made her first visit to Mahajanga, marked by a triple ceremony of inaugurations and the groundbreaking of new infrastructure at the Ambondrona campus. The first project is a four-story building (G+3) that will serve as office space and classrooms for students of the Higher Institute of Sciences and Technology of Mahajanga (ISSTM). This expansion is critical in addressing the infrastructure shortage in response to the recent increase in student enrollment at the university.
Each floor of the building will feature twelve rooms, a veranda, and restroom facilities. Additionally, two large rooms on the ground floor will be designated for laboratories. The second project involves constructing a spacious amphitheater with a seating capacity of over five hundred students. This large hall will be used for both events and meetings. The construction is scheduled to be completed in 135 days, or four and a half months. The project is financed by the capital of the University of Mahajanga, with contributions from eighteen different departments and faculties.
The final ceremony involved the inauguration of three new buildings for the School of Pharmacy at the University of Mahajanga (Epum). These significant infrastructure projects aim to meet the needs and demands of both students and faculty members. The facilities are expected to be accessible and operational by the next academic year.
