Exchange with a Chinese Giant on Construction Projects

Developing the railway network

A delegation from the China Communication Construction Company, led by its CEO, is currently in Madagascar. During a meeting in Iavoloha, discussions centered around projects such as the creation of the Route du Soleil, the rehabilitation of ports, and hydroelectric power plants.

The China Communication Construction Company (CCCC), a global leader in civil construction and design, is knocking on Madagascar’s door with this status. The multinational, led by its CEO, is currently conducting an economic consultation in the country.

At the Iavoloha State Palace, the CCCC leadership team held a working meeting with Andry Rajoelina, President of the Republic. The head of state highlighted the potential for cooperation between Madagascar and the multinational. Wang Tongzhou, the CEO, stated that he planned to mobilize all necessary resources to realize the country’s projects. Upon returning to China, he said, specialists would be engaged to collaborate with the Malagasy sector on the development and implementation of the discussed projects. Among these, the Route du Soleil is the first that CCCC is prepared to take on. This major road project spans nearly 2,000 kilometers, starting in Antsiranana and running along the east coast down to Tolagnaro.

According to the President, it is essential to develop the railway network alongside road infrastructure to optimize the transportation of people and goods. The goal is also to strengthen the railway network to relieve national roads of strategic goods such as hydrocarbons and construction materials.
