The Grande Île is a strategic destination for young leaders
The Young Leaders program values Madagascar for 2025. Indeed, the call for applications for the 2025 edition of the French-African Foundation is launched on Monday, February 17.
This edition is co-sponsored by Andry Rajoelina, President of Madagascar and Emmanuel Macron, French Head of State. Created in 2019, the program aims to identify and support young talent from France and Africa. The project is inspired by Obama’s Young African Leaders initiative and targets candidates between the ages of 28 and 40 from diverse sectors. This year’s theme, « Leading with Meaning » underscores the importance of committed leadership and concrete impact.
Selected candidates first attend a session in Paris in June. They are then immersed in practical projects related to entrepreneurship, innovation and institutional cooperation. The second phase of the program takes place in Madagascar in the autumn, reflecting growing interest in the country’s economic potential.
Lova Ranoromaro, Director of International Affairs at the Malagasy Presidency, reminds us of the importance of showcasing local talent. In addition, the program is supported by companies such as Orange, TotalEnergies and Danone, as well as institutions such as BpiFrance.
