Madagascar: Establishing Industrial Units in Every District
South African company Us Okes Pty Ltd has entered into a partnership agreement with Madagascar’s Ministry of Industrialization and Trade (MIC) to support the One District One Factory (Odof) project. Concurrently, beneficiaries of the Odof units have signed a responsibility charter as part of the project’s implementation.
Thanks to the new partnership agreement, Odof units will benefit from standardized, high-quality maintenance and servicing services. Us Okes Pty Ltd, renowned for its expertise in logistics management and industrial maintenance, will ensure the smooth operation and sustainability of these facilities. The partnership also includes the marketing of Odof products.
A purchasing and distribution center will be established in Antananarivo, providing easier access for Malagasy consumers to products from Odof’s industrial units and promoting exports.
Regarding the responsibility charter, beneficiaries of Odof units must adhere to quality standards, use local raw materials, and obtain necessary permits for product sales. This commitment ensures the sustainability of the units.
The Odof program aims to equip every district in Madagascar with an industrial unit tailored for local processing to meet community needs. The initiative aims to foster economic growth, create local jobs, and harness local resources.
