Engine of reflection and action, dedicated to regional development
In 2024, the Syndicat des Industries de Madagascar (SIM) celebrated its 65th anniversary. This milestone was especially highlighted during the CEO Summit, which honored the 12 successive presidents of the organization, whose perspectives and commitments have shaped the development of SIM.
«Thanks to their resilience, leadership, and innovation, SIM today represents the vitality of the Malagasy industry, 65 years after its founding », said Tiana Rasamimanana, the current president of SIM. She also highlighted SIM’s central importance in the country’s economic development and the promotion of a united and prosperous Indian Ocean region.
Founded in 1958, SIM currently brings together 138 member companies. These hail from various fields such as agro-industry, chemistry, energy, extractive industries, and construction. In recent years, the union has expanded its scope by including significant actors such as banks, insurance companies, and educational institutions. This consolidation of synergies strengthens the industrial ecosystem in Madagascar.
SIM prides itself on launching key initiatives such as the « Malagasy Ny Antsika » label, which ensures the quality of local products, and the « Industrial Fair ». The organization has notably contributed its expertise to the implementation of the Industrialization Law, fostering an investment-friendly climate.
Thus, the upcoming eagerly awaited summit reaffirms SIM’s position as a think tank and action driver, dedicated to regional development.
