Strengthening Madagascar’s strategic regional position
Madagascar has joined the board of directors of the COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB).
Madagascar has been a member of the board of directors of the COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB) for a week. This is excellent news for the country’s female entrepreneurs. They will be represented for the next two years by the GFEM (Groupement des Femmes Entrepreneurs de Madagascar).
This appointment to the board of directors of the COMFWB represents an opportunity for female entrepreneurs. It will also help strengthen Madagascar’s strategic position at the regional level. This position will first help protect the interests of Madagascar and those of French-speaking countries in the Indian Ocean.
« This is a remarkable situation for French-speaking countries », says the president of the Groupement des Femmes Entrepreneurs de Madagascar. Madagascar has implemented strategies to facilitate trade, notably women’s access to the common market for Eastern and Southern Africa. It is also important to promote the image of Madagascar, particularly as an investment destination, in all conceivable areas of activity.
Last week, the elective general assembly of this organization took place in Madagascar, which also hosted the COMESA week and the 5th edition of the COMFWB trade fair.
