Developing Agricultural Value Chains for Exporting SMEs

Boosting trade

A hundred export companies have been selected to receive support and training in management, agricultural entrepreneurship, and international trade.

The consulting firm Esprit d’Entreprise is implementing this program to provide these companies with the opportunity to participate in the development of agricultural value chains, particularly in key sectors in Madagascar. The program is part of the Corridor Development and Trade Facilitation Project (PACFC), an initiative led by the government with support from the African Development Bank. The goal is to help Madagascar enhance its relationships with sub-regional countries and increase trade.

Esprit d’Entreprise will offer training and support to the selected SMEs, while also incubating 50 new enterprises to promote the development of agricultural value chains linked to exports in the targeted regions.

Enhancing the skills of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in southern Madagascar will facilitate, modernize, and optimize export and import procedures. Improving the quality and productivity of agricultural value chains in this region is also a priority. The project aims to promote trade and investment in Madagascar through collaboration with the countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Indian Ocean Commission, and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).
