Improving skills in regional law
After six months of training, the participants have gained expertise in OHADA law. A project aimed at boosting the local economy through accumulated legal skills.
At the end of a six-month training period, 24 young individuals from the Comoros were awarded certificates during an event held at the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (UCCIA). This training is part of the program called “Improving the Business Climate in the Indian Ocean.” The goal of this project is to enhance skills in regional law, particularly OHADA law, COMESA law, and SEPRESE law.
This initiative, orchestrated by the OHADA Club with the scientific support of the University of Fianarantsoa in Madagascar and financial backing from the European Union, offers courses led by subject matter experts to participants holding a Master’s degree. The main objective of this training is to provide the Union of the Comoros with independent and competent experts in OHADA law. Ibouroi Ascandar, the regional secretary general of the OHADA Club, highlighted the urgent need for young professionals capable of supporting economic development by providing solutions to the legal challenges of the business world. They are now well-equipped to advise, guide, and assist the economic actors of the Union of the Comoros.
The graduates of this program have obtained a professional Master’s degree and will benefit from a partnership with the Commercial Court and the Directorate of Judicial Affairs. This collaboration allows them to join these institutions as interns, thereby enhancing their practical skills.
