Africa Kaizen Awards : Mauritius Telecom Honored

Elevating the customer experience

Mauritius Telecom (MT) has been recognized with the prestigious Africa Kaizen Award in the « Large-Scale Organizations » category, with the ceremony scheduled for October 29 in Tunisia.

Presented by the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), this award celebrates African companies making significant strides in quality improvement and productivity. Out of 27 organizations from nine African countries, MT secured its place as one of the two finalists in the Large-Scale Organization category, competing against COFICAB from Tunisia, a leader in the design and production of electrical and automotive cables.

This recognition guarantees that Mauritius Telecom will take home one of two awards : either the Outstanding (first place) or Excellent (second place) award. The Africa Kaizen Awards highlight top performers across three categories : Micro and Small-Scale Organization, Medium-Scale Organization, and Large-Scale Organization. MT’s nomination follows its gold medal win at the National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award (NPQEA) in May 2024 for its project, « Increase Digital Customer Interactions with Telecom App ».

Mauritius Telecom has implemented a forward-thinking strategy to streamline operations and enhance service delivery. By adopting the KAIZEN method, the company has transformed its processes, improving customer experience and overall productivity. This initiative has not only optimized customer interactions but also driven greater efficiency through process automation and the digitalization of key service touchpoints.
