CDC Habitat plans EUR 395 million for Reunion Island

200 calls for tenders launched by landlords

During the “Economic Morning of the Territory” on March 27, the four social landlords of the CDC Habitat group in Réunion Island – SODIAC, SEMADER, SIDR, and SEMAC – unveiled their investment program for 2025.

This year, more than 200 calls for tenders will be launched, representing approximately 680 lots, primarily targeting local small and medium-sized businesses, with a participation rate of 96%.

The total volume of forecast investments amounts to 395 million EUR, divided between the construction of new housing (238 million EUR), the rehabilitation of existing housing (59 million EUR), maintenance (EUR 31 million), and the acquisition or improvement of private housing (12 million EUR). A budget of 34 million EUR is also dedicated to ancillary services such as project management, maintenance, and security.

This program aims to provide greater visibility to local businesses, allowing them to structure themselves and prepare for future opportunities. By 2024, the lessors had commissioned 1,475 housing units and rehabilitated another 1,470, thus contributing to the sustainability of more than 3,600 jobs in the region. For 2025, the objective remains ambitious, with the delivery of 1,200 to 1,500 new housing units and the rehabilitation of more than 1,500 units.

The lessors emphasized the importance of this transparent approach in a difficult economic context, marked by the passage of Hurricane Garance. Despite this ordeal, the Directors of the four organizations assure that the Region’s development potential remains intact and that their practices will adapt to future challenges.
