Improving the quality of life for Mauritians

On November 30, World AIDS Day 2024, Anil Bachoo, Minister of Health and Wellness, presented a self-diagnostic kit for HIV.

Additionally, the Minister provided recommendations and guidelines regarding HIV testing during an event held at the Caudan Arts Centre in Port Louis. In his inaugural speech, the Minister highlighted that introducing this kit was a significant advancement in the health sector.

This provides citizens with a more discreet, affordable, and useful method to determine their HIV status. He emphasized that this kit offered an alternative option to traditional HIV testing procedures.

Anil Bachoo also emphasized the government’s determination to highlight the importance of testing to enhance the quality of life for Mauritians, ensuring that no one is left behind. He announced that the kits would be available at the ministry’s risk reduction unit, health centers, non-governmental organizations, and private pharmacies.
