Support space for pregnant women
The facility, designed for pregnant women, also serves as a place for listening to and supporting women who face various forms of abuse.
A dedicated space for managing pregnancies and supporting victims of violations has been established in Fumbuni. The inauguration took place on Monday, November 25. This project, led by the Étoile d’Auber association, is financially supported by the French Development Agency (AFD).
The event featured several speeches highlighting the importance of such a facility for the residents of the southern region. The mayor of Itsahidi, Houssounali Attoy, expressed gratitude to the financial and technical collaborators who made the project possible. He emphasized the dual role of this facility as a support center for pregnant women and a platform for listening to victims of various forms of abuse. Attoy referred to the violence as a global epidemic threatening human rights and praised the crucial work of midwives.
Sitti Saïd Hassan, president of the Association of Women of Mbadjini for Socio-Cultural Development (Adfm), seized the moment to encourage both national and international collaborators to disclose their efforts in preventing and combating economic violence against women. She underscored the importance of women’s financial independence.
