Training to Modernize French Language Teaching

On April 14, 2025, a training workshop on French language teaching was officially launched in the Comoros. The objective is to strengthen the skills of primary school teachers.

The event was inaugurated by Saïd Soule Saïd, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Education, as part of the Prefec project. This program welcomes approximately forty participants from the three Comorian islands.

For six days, participants will benefit from the expertise of Pascal Baud and Thierry Roussey, trainers from France Éducation Internationale. The main modules covered include reading, oral communication, and the connections between reading, writing, and spelling.

The Secretary-General emphasized the importance of these training sessions in adapting teaching methods to the constant changes in the education system. The project is funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), which actively supports the improvement of teaching through such initiatives.

Arzèl Fahar, an educational advisor in Mwali, expressed his satisfaction, highlighting the importance of teacher training in a language as crucial to the education system as French. The official emphasized the need to understand how learning is done and who this learning is intended for.
