UNCTAD : Madagascar prioritizes job creation

Diversification of the Malagasy economy

During the 60th anniversary of UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) in Geneva, President Andry Rajoelina emphasized that Madagascar is prioritizing job creation.

In his speech at the celebration, President Rajoelina stated, « Madagascar aims to generate jobs ». His proposals focus on three essential elements: human capital, industrialization, and effective governance.

These priorities are designed to reduce poverty and improve the purchasing power of the population. According to Rajoelina, job creation is crucial as every individual should contribute to the development of their country.

He also stressed the need to diversify Madagascar’s economy to foster growth. He highlighted the importance of supporting industrialization by promoting investments in agriculture, tourism, industry, and technology to create new opportunities.

Moreover, President Rajoelina called for enhanced international cooperation. He expressed his commitment to representing all least developed countries, which have long suffered from the adverse effects of interdependent global crises.
