Promoting bilateral investments
The Seychelles-China Trade Expo has officially opened, with numerous businesses already confirming deals with Chinese exhibitors.
Devika Vidot, Seychelles’ Minister of Investment, Entrepreneurship, and Industry, highlighted this during the fair’s opening ceremony on Thursday. In her speech, Lin Nan, China’s Ambassador to Seychelles, stated, « This expo is a significant testament to China’s openness to the international world ».
China aims to broaden its reach, creating substantial potential for Africa while fostering increased bilateral trade and investment. « China is ready to work with Seychelles in areas such as trade, tourism, agriculture, and beyond, aiming for tangible outcomes and building a shared future between China and Seychelles » Lin Nan added.
The expo unveils numerous opportunities, not just for established businesses but also for startups and aspiring entrepreneurs. Wang Qian, Deputy Mayor of Chengdu and head of the Chinese delegation to Seychelles, expressed hope that their companies would be well-received and valued by Seychelles residents and businesses.
