Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed an economic partnership agreement in Dubai.
The partnership agreement between Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) marks a significant milestone in their economic relations. It paves the way for growth in trade, services, investment, technology transfer, economic cooperation, and professional mobility. This is the first agreement of its kind between the UAE and an African nation.
The signing ceremony featured video messages from Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE. Jugnauth thanked the UAE President for his ongoing support in strengthening bilateral ties.
Minister Gobin stated that the agreement is designed to create a favorable investment climate and promote growth in tourism, finance, and technology sectors, aiming to boost economic development and job creation. Mauritius seeks to attract UAE investments that align with its economic strategy.
