Strengthening collaborative relations between the two countries

Representatives of Chinese investors recently paid a courtesy visit to Madagascar’s Minister of Public Works (MTP), Richard Rafidison.

Discussions between the two parties focused primarily on the creation of the « Route of the Sun », a government project connecting Madagascar’s eastern coastline from Ambovombe to Ambilobe. Over time, cooperation between Madagascar and China has grown stronger, particularly in the area of infrastructure rehabilitation and development on the Big Island. This ambitious project further solidifies the collaborative relationship between the two nations.

Chinese investors, in partnership with the MTP, are organizing a site visit to initiate research related to the project. According to the MTP, work has already begun on a segment of the Route of the Sun, though additional sections still require partnerships and financial resources. The presence of these innovative visitors on-site is a strong motivator for the project’s realization.

In his remarks, Minister Richard Rafidison emphasized the urgency of completing the project quickly due to its critical importance for the country’s development.
