Eight companies from Canada and South Africa embarked on a prospecting mission in Antananarivo from May 27 to 29. The event kicked off with B2B meetings at the Radisson Blu hotel in Antananarivo.
In the spices, dried grains, essential oils, and vanilla sectors, 80 % of Malagasy exporters are women. They work closely with the Canada-Madagascar Chamber of Commerce and Cooperation (CanCham). These initiatives are technically supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIC) and funded by the Integrated Growth Poles Economic Transformation Project (PIC).
To achieve their goals, the organization has established sustainable commercial collaborations between exporters in developing countries and Canadian and international buyers, with financial backing from Global Affairs Canada, among others.
TFO Madagascar collaborates with trade promotion organizations like the Antananarivo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIA) in Madagascar. This partnership provides local small and medium-sized businesses with information, recommendations, and matchmaking services to help them access international markets.
Since 2020, TFO Canada has been implementing the « Women in Trade for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth (FCCID) » project in collaboration with the CCIA.
