Budget for this plan is 34 Million USD
The actions that UN agencies could undertake in 2025 are listed in a reference document. The program includes 254 activities aimed at promoting the inclusive development of the country.
Yesterday in Moroni, Tsok James Bot, Minister of the Interior, and UN Resident Coordinator in Comoros, signed the 2025 Annual Work Plan (AWP). The budget for this plan, which includes 254 activities, is 34 million USD. During the presentation of the UN agencies’ 2024 activities within the framework of the 2022-2026 United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, the Resident Coordinator outlined the goals.
The coordinator emphasized the importance of this plan in his speech. According to him, 26 million USD of the required 34 million USD is already utilized. This plan is part of various strategic frameworks, including the Emerging Comoros Plan 2030, the 2022-2026 Recovery Plan, the African Union’s Agenda 2063, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
To ensure its success, several strategic challenges are highlighted. In particular, it is essential to promote exchanges within the results groups and ensure rigorous monitoring in line with an inclusive approach. Moreover, it is necessary to ensure that the AWP is included in government and ministerial action plans and to mobilize resources to meet unmet needs.
