Technical conclave involving multiple entities
The evaluation seminar for programs related to the Comoros Emerging Plan (CEP) and the obstacles to overcome to achieve the desired emergence by 2030 was organized by the government.
This technical conclave involved ministers, the state head’s cabinet, governors, secretaries-general, directors-general of state-owned enterprises, and leaders of public and private sector entities. It was the first since the new government took office on July 1.
The seminar aimed to evaluate the actions included in the « Post-Covid Recovery Plan 2022-2024 ». It is also necessary to determine the tangible measures to be implemented for 2025 while examining the country’s ability to harmonize all its development plans, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals.
Four key moments marked the day: the presentation by State Secretary General Nour El Fath, the presentation by General Commissioner for the Plan Najda Saïd Abdallah, the proposals from the island governors, and the sectoral plans presented by the ministers.
Subsequently, the government’s Secretary-General revealed the « five priority axes » on which the members of the new government structure will be evaluated. These are fighting the cost of living, implementing urban development projects for Moroni, Mutsamudu, and Fomboni, initiating the process to prepare for the seventh Indian Ocean Island Games, effective and sustainable waste management, and the concrete application of policy.
