CBS presents its 2024 economic report

Monetary Policies to Stabilize the Seychelles Economy

The Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) officially submitted its 2024 Annual Report to the President of the Republic, Wavel Ramkalawan, during a meeting at State House on March 31, 2025.

Presented by Governor Caroline Abel, this document highlights the country’s economic performance, the measures taken, and the challenges ahead.

Beyond the figures, the report highlights the economic tensions Seychelles faced in 2024. These include currency volatility, inflationary pressures, and the impact of fluctuations in tourism on the trade balance. The Governor explained that the CBS has implemented appropriate monetary policies to stabilize the financial market and support economic growth.

During this meeting, President Ramkalawan commended the CBS’s efforts in maintaining economic stability. However, the Head of State emphasized the need to strengthen economic resilience in the face of global and regional uncertainties.

In addition to the annual report, the Central Bank submitted to the Government the international reserves management report and the financial statements for the 2024 fiscal year. The report will be publicly available on the CBS’s official website, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to transparency and economic accountability.
