Three Bilateral Cooperations to Boost Industrialization in Madagascar

Promoting Madagascar’s industrial development

The ambassadors of France, Germany, and South Korea met with the Minister of Industrialization, pledging continued collaboration to support industrial development in Madagascar.

David Ralambofiringa, Madagascar’s Minister of Industrialization and Commerce, welcomed three diplomats during a series of courtesy visits. The Minister presented the major projects Madagascar has undertaken, particularly the « One District, One Factory » (ODOF) initiative, which is one of the key pillars of the country’s industrial development. The French, German, and South Korean diplomats praised these initiatives and expressed their countries’ desire to deepen cooperation further.

On Wednesday, David Ralambofiringa met with South Korean Ambassador Park Ji Hyun, who assured him of her country’s support and its willingness to enhance cooperation in industrialization and investment. During their discussions, South Korea also indicated that it would help Madagascar attract investments to develop its industrial sector. The collaboration agreements reached during the recent Korea-Africa summit are also being implemented.

Meetings will be organized between technical experts from the Ministry of Industrialization and Commerce (MIC) and their South Korean counterparts to discuss additional support for industrial development projects. Later in the day, David Ralambofiringa welcomed German Ambassador Oliver Knoerich to discuss the progress of cooperation between the two countries in industrialization and trade. They also reviewed potential opportunities for further collaboration.

On Thursday, French Ambassador Arnaud Guillois visited Ambohidahy to ensure the continued cooperation between France and Madagascar in trade and industrial development support. These three countries are, of course, key trading partners of Madagascar.
