Strengthening existing relations between the two countries
The High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Mauritius, Syed Zahid Raza, met with Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in Port Louis.
In a press release, Mr. Syed Zahid Raza stated that his meeting with Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth was an excellent opportunity to discuss important topics. In particular, it was crucial to explore new avenues for cooperation in various fields and strengthen the already existing relations between the two countries.
According to the High Commissioner, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment and intention to develop strong relations with Mauritius, both at the bilateral and international levels. During his meeting with the Prime Minister, he expressed Pakistan’s support for Mauritius regarding the Chagos Archipelago issue.
Additionally, other topics were discussed, notably the possibility of Pakistan using Mauritius as a gateway to the African market. This would enhance collaboration in the pharmaceutical and textile sectors and improve investor visa conditions.
