Seychellois President Concludes International Tour in Mauritius

As the esteemed guest for Mauritius’s 189th anniversary of the abolition of slavery, Seychellois President Wavel Ramkalawan participated in a special lunch on February 2, hosted by his Mauritian counterpart, President Prithvirajsing Roopun.

Concluding his visit, President Ramkalawan embarked on a tour of the Intercontinental Slavery Museum (ISM) in Port Louis. Accompanying him was Mauritius’s Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Avinash Teeluck. The ISM Mauritius is pivotal in implementing the Intercontinental Slavery Museum project.

« Seychelles and Mauritius share a significant aspect of our history. We must continue to collaborate in preserving this crucial narrative », President Ramkalawan emphasized.

President Ramkalawan also paid his inaugural visit to the Seychelles Honorary Consulate in Mauritius, extending his gratitude to the Honorary Consul of Seychelles, Ahmed Parkar, for the warm reception. He commended the consulate team for their unwavering support of the Seychellois community.

« I extend my heartfelt appreciation for your dedicated efforts. Your support to the Seychellois community is invaluable, and we are profoundly thankful », President Ramkalawan expressed warmly.
