Comoros – Mauritius: A meeting to strengthen cooperation

Towards a strengthened partnership in the economic, health, and agricultural sectors

On April 18, 2025, Mbae Mohamed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Comoros, met with the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, in Port Louis, during an official visit aimed at deepening bilateral relations between the two nations.

At the heart of this meeting, the Minister expressed the Comoros’ desire to strengthen cooperation in key sectors such as the economy, health, agriculture, and fisheries. According to him, these areas offer numerous opportunities for increased collaboration, with the aim of stimulating growth and addressing common challenges.

Mbae Mohamed also conveyed a message from his President, Azali Assoumani, reaffirming the fraternal ties between the two governments. The Comorian Minister emphasized that “this meeting was an ideal opportunity to discuss bilateral initiatives in the aforementioned sectors, while exploring practical solutions to strengthen exchanges and partnerships.”

This visit is an important step in advancing cooperation between the Comoros and Mauritius, particularly in areas essential to the sustainable development of both countries. Discussions in these strategic sectors point to a promising future for relations between the two nations.
